Three Amazing Atlanta Musicians Join Brookwood Split

Brookwood Split has just added three well-respected and long time Atlanta musicians to its talented team.

Ron Burns, who toured nationally in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s with such bands as Fragile, has joined Brookwood Split as its permanent source of a funky beat and sizzle. Most recently leader of Elektra-Glide, Ron is very excited to be part of the backline in Brookwood Split. Of his new role, Ron says “I’ve watched this unbelievable band grow its following and I just want to be part of it. I’m thrilled to now be part of this band.”

Byron and DanYelle Word have joined the band as vocalists. This husband and wife team has its roots in St. Louis and Atlanta where the two of them have grown up with the music Brookwood Split plays. “I’m a ‘70’s baby. I love the music of that decade and the ‘80’s. It’s helped shape who I am. This band is a God-send for me to look back and to experience such a nostalgic time of my life,” says Byron. Both Byron and DanYelle have starred on the stage and have appeared with a variety of local bands over the past several years. Brookwood Split is excited that this dynamic team will help front the band and will bring a heightened sense of soul to the already funky and rockin’ music that Brookwood Split delivers to every performance.

Long a fixture of the Atlanta music scene, the band is featured daily on the leading radio stations of the Southeast, and now Brookwood Split is rapidly gaining national prominence. This Fall Brookwood Split will tour the West Coast in a series of performances that will culminate at the La Costa Spa & Resort in Carlsbad, California.
